When every bridge seems to be burned

Is how to lose what you have earned
A flash of sadness drove away
The hope that nestled in my mind
And in the gloom I heard him say
The words that were to me denied
And from the day into the night
I made my mind to stay and fight
For love that shouldn't have to die
To show that life's not just a lie
The darkness lurched within my mind
His sunlit face brought the day
Is the hope now left behind
Or simply fooled astray?
Your eyes seem glazed
As mine are teared
Am I losing you
As I am losing my mind?
